good, indeed, but not good enough till i shall not find out that they and the other 17 have been condemned.
in romania, only one of ceausescu's children was condemned, and just because he was politically involved with his parents in the dictatorship.
the two others have been absolved of any accusation. but after some more years, they have been so shameless to ask for the paintings and jewelries of ceausescu's family, as if they would work hard to gather it.

of course, it's a good step, but i'm afraid they will not (if they will) pay the real price. who will pay for all lives destroyed in Chile in last 30 years?
however, the most important thing is not only pinochet's relatives will be under accusation, but some other 17 officials of his dictatorship. i am sure, they are many others also. i hope, one day, light it will be made in this subject. and in many similar others.

hi, nobody can pay lives destroyed. in my country, brazil we had a army dictated for 25 years, many people are tortured and killed, many family don't know where the army buried the bodies of the people they killed...we wait for justice...

i know a bit also about what happened in brasil, as well as in Argentina or other latin-american countries (and not only). that's why i said that i hope one day we will know the truth about all of such things. "porque manana se abriran las alamedas..." as it's said in a nice tune. hugs, dinu

me too, and not chile only - toda america latina. pero por chile tengo un sentido muy especial, quiza por gracia de neruda, gabriela mistral, violeta y sus hijos, victor jara. no lo se. creo que es uno de los remotos lugares donde yo he vivido en una otra vida.

I would like to see lesser dictators such as General Evren of Turkey and his cohorts likewise pay back for their (mis)deeds...

they will, sooner or later, because history doesn't forget or forgive. i'd like that happens as soon as possible (and sometimes it is). but most of all i would perefere to not have such dark figures in our history.
thanks for your visit, gurcan.
